Plant cell

The cell  is the basic unit of life in all organisms. Like humans and animals, plants are also composed of  several cells. The plant cell is surrounded by a cell wall which is involved in providing shape to the plant cell.Apart from the cell wall, there are other organelles that are associated with different cellular activities

Plant cells are eukaryotic cells with a true nucleus along with specialized structures called organelles that carryout certain specific function.

Plant cell consist of cell wall, cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, mitochondrion, endoplasmic reticulum ,ribosome, vacuole and glogicomplex.Mitochodrion is the power house of the cell.Helps in the production and storage of energy.Abundantly seen in the cells of liver, brain and muscles where energy requirement is high.Endoplasmic reticulum is the passage in the cell.Conduction of material inside the cell takes place through this organelle. Also known as cytoskeleton .It provides the shape to the cell.Ribosomes is the centre of protein synthesis in the cell.seen either attached to the endoplasmic reticulum or free in the cytoplasm.vacuole covered by a characteristic membrane called tonoplast.it stores water, salts, excretory materials etc.Glogi complex collects the cell secretions like enzymes hormones, mucous etc in small vesicles.seen in plenty in glandular cells.

Plant  cells are eukaryotic cells that vary in several fundamental factors from other eukaryotic organisms. Both plants and animal cell contain a nucleus along with similar organelles.one of the distinctive aspect of a plant cell is the presence of cell wall outside the cell membrane .photosynthesis is the major function performed by plant cells.cell organelles are the specific parts seen in the cytoplasm to perform physiological functions.

Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplast of the plant cell.it is the process of preparing food by plants by utilising sunlight ,carbon dioxide, water.Energy is produced in the form of ATP in the process.A new plant cells help in the transport of water and nutrients from the roots and leaves to different parts of plants.

Cells of a matured and higher plant become specialized to perform certain vital functions that are essential for their survival.few plants cells are involved in the transportation of nutrients and water.while other for storing food. The specialized plant cell include parenchyma cells, sclerenchyma cells, collenchyma cells, xylem and phloem cells.

Parenchyma cells are the majority present in the plant. They help in the metabolism and food production of s plant. These are very flexible as compared to other cells.sclerenchyma cells give the the maximum support to the plant .because of their hardness. Collenchyma cells are also hard but not harder than sclerenchyma cells. They also provide support to the plants when they are young.Xylem cells are known as water conducting cells.phloem cells live past maturity.
